Nano4Energy belongs to the consortium of companies involved in the project Altera, which aims to develop a new concept of battery based on silicon, which might allow to storage the electric power from intermittent, green power sources, such as wind or solar energy. This new battery relies on melting the silicon through green power sources, and the partial recovery of this power as electricity by means of thermophotovoltaic cells.
The Altera project is part of Programa Estatal de Liderazgo Empresarial en I+D+I, Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2017-2020 (Programa ‘Misiones CDTI’) – Convocatoria del año 2019, and is cofunded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
The project consortium is constituted by Silbat,
Nano4Energy, Generaciones Fotovoltaica de la Mancha, and Advanced Thermal
Devices, with the coordination of Esteyco.
